Description

The Newark Liberty International Airport opened for domestic flights in 1973, and by 2015, was ranked the second busiest airport in the New York Metro area. Today, the airport is in need of significant revitalization and improvement. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey awarded the redevelopment of terminal A to Tutor Perini Corporation, a $1.4 billion contract entailed the design and construction of a 1 million square-foot, 33 gate domestic terminal with an open and modern layout. The project is currently ongoing and set to be completed in 2022.

Scope

AEIS’ multidisciplinary team is performing extensive welding, non-destructive testing, concrete, and coating inspections on this redevelopment project. AEIS' inspection and testing team determines the quality and compliance of project materials and activities on a daily basis to ensure the long-term structural integrity and safety of terminal A.
