Description

The Moynihan Train Hall project will transform the landmark James A. Farley Post Office Building into a 21st century transportation hub. All LIRR and Amtrak trains will be served by nine platforms and 17 tracks, all accessible from the Train Hall that is served by seven escalators and seven elevators. The new Moynihan Train Hall, features a spectacular 92-foot high skylight, ample train and transportation access, and extends Penn Station all the way to 9th Avenue, to the new, revitalized Hudson Yards neighborhood. The main concourse and will expand the total concourse space at the Pennsylvania Station by 50%. The result? A modern, efficient transportation station for New Yorkers and all visitors to benefit from for years to come.

Scope

AEIS has completed phase II of Moynihan Station’s transformation and continues to play an integral role in phase III. All phases include various welding, non-destructive testing (NDT), and high-strength bolting inspections. AEIS has and continues to deliver timely, cost-effective inspection and testing results that ensure the long-term structural integrity and safety of the Moynihan Train Hall.
