Special/Critical Inspections

Architectural and General Building Construction Inspection

In an effort to provide architectural inspection for new buildings and preserve existing and historic buildings, the New York City Building Code requires special inspection on various architectural systems of the buildings.

There were various architectural systems in a building that requires inspection in order to ensure public safety and building integrity. An architectural special inspection, investigation, should be performed during construction or prior to any purchase of an existing building. The inspection should be done by a qualified professional engineer, one that has the experience on doing such inspections before, aware of the possible hidden problems, and knows what their causes.

Property management groups may also benefit from periodic inspections of a building. There are many parts of the building, such a existing masonry, roofs, wall facades, veneers, existing partition walls, and retaining walls are never even though of until problems appear. By doing inspections regularly, these hidden problems may be uncovered before expensive and sometimes irreversible damage is done.
