Tensile, Compression & Flexure Testing

Tensile, Compression & Flexure Testing

The ability of a material to withstand a load can be determined by testing that material in tension, compression or flexure.

Tensile testing is used to apply a tensile load to determine the material’s yield strength, it tensile strength,  percent elongation (ductility) and modulus of elasticity.

Compression testing is used to apply a load to determine the material’s compressive strength, and percent compaction.
